What Have I Been Up To?
Hey friends! It’s been a little while, so I thought I’d pop in with a life and work update—and maybe give you a behind-the-scenes peek at the (slightly controlled) chaos around here. 😅
Yes, I am still photographing weddings, but in a part-time capacity these days. Most of my availability is for non-Saturday weddings, and that shift has been huge for our family life. With Joe’s Packers schedule and the kids’ sports, lessons, activities, and their booming social lives (seriously, they have more playdates than I do!), trying to do weddings full-time was just… not sustainable. Prioritizing mental health, sleep, and sanity has meant scaling back—and honestly, it’s been the best decision. Our home is calmer, and I can show up better for everyone, including my amazing clients.
Now for the super fun part—senior sessions! I’ve taken on more seniors this year than I have since probably 2008 or 2009, and my heart is so happy. For years, I had to turn away senior inquiries because my wedding calendar was just too packed. But in these past couple of years, I’ve been able to say yes more often—and I’ve loved every second of it.
In fact, I’m rolling out something brand new this year called the Senior Passport! 🎉 This session style is full of variety and adventure, and I am so excited to offer it. Outside of work, I’ve been soaking up some quieter moments—reading good books, hanging with our sweet golden retriever, Molly, and, well…trying to keep up with our very full calendar. I swear our family planner could give anyone anxiety. 😅 It’s never boring around here!
Still sticking with our family motto: Work hard, play hard. We hustle through summer and fall, then savor football season and all the cozy vibes that come with it. Then, before you know it, we’re diving back into senior and wedding season all over again. Rinse, lather, repeat!
