Steve & Deb | A Halloween Wedding at Terror on the Fox

2018-10-30_0003.jpg

I thought it was a fitting time to share with you my first ever Halloween wedding. It’s funny to think back to my first conversations with Steve. I’m fairly certain he said something along the lines of ‘I’m not sure if you’d be interested in this type of thing.’ Little did Steve know, at the time, exactly how excited I was! Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE traditional weddings, I love the luxury, the fancy, the pretty, the white dress, black tuxedo, but I’m a sucker for different. Especially when it means so much to the couple. I am the biggest believer of you do you for your wedding day. Thankfully it is the 21st century and weddings are customizable to your little heart’s desire. I say you get to do what you want on your wedding day, and that is exactly what Steve and Deb did. To them Halloween is a bigger holiday than even Christmas. Yes, you read that correctly.

After our initial consult Deb, Steve, and I began the planning for their wedding photos. I loved every piece of detail they put into their wedding day. We planned out which photos would be taken before and after their face painting and down to every last detail photography wise. We curated their list of family portraits so no one would be forgotten and even planned out some of more fun shots. Deb and Steve basically gave me creative freedom when it came to lighting their after dark photos with the Terror on the Fox Haunted House and the actors. I’m not going to lie it was fun to play, and I honestly didn’t want to stop.

Haunt by Misty Keasler served perfectly as their guest book. Guests signed the pages of the book with their well wishes and names. A very fitting keepsake for their wedding.

We began their wedding day with their Bride and Groom portraits prior to having their skeleton makeup applied. After their portraits we went through the haunted house to the makeup trailer, where Steve and Deb got half their faces painted like a skeleton and shortly after it was time for the ceremony. The ceremony was short, sweet, and simple. Steve and Debbie got married surrounded by their closest friends and family…and a news crew. LOL! A crew from Channel 5 news in Green Bay was there to film the entire thing! Click here if you want to see the video from the news story.

After the ceremony we finished up Steve & Debbie’s family portraits with and without the haunted house actors.

Then it was time to finish up their Bride and Groom portraits, which only got more fun as the sun went down and the lights of the haunted house came on, complete with the iconic haunted house music.

10/10 I would definitely photograph another wedding at Terror on the Fox. Their crew was so helpful and definitely willing to step in to pose for photos and for a lighting nerd like myself it was a dream. So many colors and architectural aspects to work with. I had a blast and am so blessed Steve & Deb chose me to document their wedding day. <3

Maddie | 3 Months | Green Bay Boutique Photography Studio

Baby Maddie came into the new studio for her 3 Month Milestone Session of her Watch Me Grow Plan.  Even though she was pretty sassy at her newborn session and did not want me to pose her despite sleeping nearly the entire time, she was the perfect little model for her Milestone Session.  We got several smiles and she showed me all her new tricks!  She is a tummy time expert now.  I cannot wait for her 6 Month Milestone Session to document all her new skills.  Remember, Maddie, no walking, save that for the 9 Month or 1 Year Session.  ;)

Archer | 9 Months

Archer came to the studio for his 9-month milestone session!  This lil guy LOVES to move and is already s

Tis the season! We finished Archer's session with a few holiday photos!  We tried getting him to sleep in Santa's lap, but without fail every time he closed his eyes and heard the snap of my camera he woke up smiling.  It was hilarious.  Gosh, I feel like this last year went fast!  From taking his mommy and daddy's pregnancy announcment photos to maternity photos to captureing his first year to now planning his cake smash theme.

Model Call

Model Call! I am looking for two couples willing to get all dressed up in their wedding attire! I need one couple for a sunset/after dark shoot on May 6th and one couple for midday May 7th. Couples must be dressed in their formal wedding attire; dresses and tux/suit are a must. If you are a same sex couple you would need to dress as you feel fit, but it must be formal wedding attire. I'm not looking for jeans/khakis. We're not picky, but like I said, it needs to be formal wedding attire. Time commitment may vary from 1.5 hours to 2-3 hours. In exchange for your time you will receive the high res files from the shoot with a print release. Please send me a PM or email (hello@kristinreuterphotography.com) for more details.

Please feel free to share this post with your friends!

Samantha | 6 months

This is another gorgeous little lady that I have been photographing since she was in her mama's belly!  Baby Samantha is already 6 months old! I feel like I was just visiting her mama in the hospital to shoot her Fresh 48 Session! As some of you know this adorable babe's mama is one of my lovely second shooters, Beth!

Baby Samantha really made my job way too easy!  It was as easy as making a fool of myself quacking like a duck to make her smile...or maybe she was laughing at my goofy face, either way she was all smiles for her 6 month milestone session!  She was a big girl and sat up for us!

Some of the many precious facial expressions Baby Samantha had for me that day!  I think in the top right photo she's thinking something along the lines of "Really lady? Another picture?"

We even got several smiles with some tummy time pose!

I have been wanting to do this set up for a while now!  I love the simple background and the reflection in the plexiglas!  So happy her mama was willing to let me play around with this set up!

Avery | 1 Year Cake Smash Session

I have been photographing this lil cutie since before she was born!  I photographed her mama while she was pregnant, then I photographed her newborn photos, some family photos, and now her one year session!  We started off her session with some Packer themed photos.  Thank you Avery for helping cheer on the Pack to an ever so sweet playoff victory!  I am hoping for a repeat this weekend.

Then we moved onto a more girly setup! I have been dying to use this backdrop, but I've had all boys in the studio. So, glad mama picked this one and it matched her outfit perfectly!

Oh, the headband.  We got a few shots with it, but literally only a few before Miss Avery decided she was done with it.  I think I counted four photos total before it was removed, haha!

Such a happy baby and getting so big! I can't believe she is already standing up on her own, watch out mom and dad walking is next and then NOTHING is safe!

Seriously how adorable is this cake smash set up?  I think this is my favorite to date, yes I know I say that every time, but seriously this time.  I am a fan of bright pink, so no surprise there! We chose a bright pink backdrop, gray washed wooden floordrop, white molding, added in light pink and white balloons, adorable owl cake and then finished it off with some tissue paper pom poms.

This was seriously the least messy cake smash session I have ever shot.  So, I thought I'd help Aver out a little...

....and Avery did not like that idea! Haha, poor girl.

It couldn't have been too traumatizing, she was back to smiles right after! I'm still a little sad she managed to keep the cake out of her hair.

Engagement Statistics

Who doesn't enjoy some engagement statistics? I came across this article the other day and found it pretty interesting.  Now, keep in mind that I am a wedding photographer and I LOVE all things wedding related.  I am also quite nerdy and love numbers and statistics so combining engagements and statistics is right up my alley!

With over 10.000 people surveyed here is what they found as the most popular days to get engaged:

#1 Christmas Eve- Almost one-third of couples surveyed 31%

#2 Valentines Day- 22%

#3 New Years Eve- 18%

#4 On the anniversary of the day the couple met- 11%

#5 Birthday- 9%

#6 Christmas Day- 7%

So, ladies and gents if you're still waiting for your proposal don't fret there is still a pretty decent probability your man or lady will still pop the big question in the next month or so!  You've heard of wedding season right? Typically during the summer and fall months. Well, we are in the middle of engagement season! The winter months are the most popular months to get engaged! I, myself, got engaged in November.  November 11th, 2010 to be exact.

Another statistic I found quite interesting was the number of women who said they would propose.  21% of women said they would be courageous enough to propose while 79% said they would not.

Plenty of other fun engagement statistics ranging from the perceived best date to propose to the best plan to propose are included in the article! Feel free to check it out!

Completion Schedule Stats | 2015

Alright folks it's that time of the year again that I post my completion schedule stats for the year!  Just when I thought last year's stats were quite impressive, my 2015 stats make 2014 look weak.   As some of you know, I am one of those people that after having my photos taken I would prefer to have them completed and posted instantaneously.  I know this is not realistic and I promise, the photographers I work with for my personal photos can attest to this, I wait patiently, never ever sending that "Hey are my photos done?" email.  But, that doesn't mean I don't still wish they'd be done instantly.  With that kind of mind set I try to get my work done ASAP for my clients.  Always with that in mind here are my 2015 completion schedule or turnaround time stats (whatever you crazy kids prefer to call them):

2015 Stats:

Shortest turnaround time for a wedding: TWO weeks FIVE days (I'm pretty darn proud of this one! I wish I could do that for every wedding)

Longest turnaround time for a wedding: SIX weeks, which in my opinion isn't too shabby!  Either way I look at it all my weddings were completed TEN WEEKS OR MORE ahead of the scheduled time frame.  Please excuse me while I brush off my shoulders and take a bow ;)

Shortest turnaround time for a session: ONE day

Longest turnaround time for a session: THREE weeks, I blame fall haha. Just kidding fall, I still love you!  It gets crazy shooting from sunrise to sunset on several occasions in the month of October alone! Still three weeks isn't the worst I've heard out there, but it doesn't impress me none.  This may be on the goal sheet for 2016; find solution to crazy amount of fall shoots!

Just for a little comparison here are the 2014 Stats:

Shortest turnaround time for a wedding: FOUR weeks

Longest turnaround time for a wedding: TWELVE weeks, still ahead of schedule just like I prefer it.

If you're still reading at this point and are curious about my 2014 turnaround times for sessions...I don't remember.  I can blame baby brain, but if I had to guess I would say they were pretty similar to 2015.
