Engagement Statistics

Who doesn't enjoy some engagement statistics? I came across this article the other day and found it pretty interesting.  Now, keep in mind that I am a wedding photographer and I LOVE all things wedding related.  I am also quite nerdy and love numbers and statistics so combining engagements and statistics is right up my alley!

With over 10.000 people surveyed here is what they found as the most popular days to get engaged:

#1 Christmas Eve- Almost one-third of couples surveyed 31%

#2 Valentines Day- 22%

#3 New Years Eve- 18%

#4 On the anniversary of the day the couple met- 11%

#5 Birthday- 9%

#6 Christmas Day- 7%

So, ladies and gents if you're still waiting for your proposal don't fret there is still a pretty decent probability your man or lady will still pop the big question in the next month or so!  You've heard of wedding season right? Typically during the summer and fall months. Well, we are in the middle of engagement season! The winter months are the most popular months to get engaged! I, myself, got engaged in November.  November 11th, 2010 to be exact.

Another statistic I found quite interesting was the number of women who said they would propose.  21% of women said they would be courageous enough to propose while 79% said they would not.

Plenty of other fun engagement statistics ranging from the perceived best date to propose to the best plan to propose are included in the article! Feel free to check it out!
